Myanmar ( Burma) Entry Requirements

Dive boat operators from Thailand make special arrangements to enter the Mergui Archipelago, which is a part of Myanmar or *Burma*. We do not use the same procedures as you would if you actually entered Myanmar by plane or overland.

A Myanmar (Burmese) visa is required for all guests. Similan Diving Safaris will apply for the visa on the guest’s behalf. This will be done as soon as you book the Myanmar Liveaboard trip with us or minimum 2 weeks prior to the departure day of the trip.

Myanmar entry fee plus visa is 350 USD per person, per entry (not per day). This fee is required in US dollar in cash only. No checks, credit cards or other currencies are accepted for this fee. The cash bills must be new (no rips, no ink stains, no folds and no creases). This is the policy of the Myanmar officials not of Similan Diving Safaris.

Please buy the US dollars before you arrive in Thailand.

If your country of citizenship requires you to have a Thai visa, please make sure you get a double entry visa as you will be leaving Thailand. So, please check with the Royal Thai Embassy in your country for further information.

The liveaboard in Thailand will cost you an additional fee, Similan/Surin National Park fees : 1,400 baht

They also require:
• A scanned color copy of your passport bio-data page.
• A recent digital passport-sized photograph.

This must be emailed to us as soon as you book the Myanmar Liveaboard or at least two weeks before the departure day of the trip.

In addition, you must bring:
• TWO recent color passport-size photographs.

Please have the US cash in *exact change and new bills (nomination 10, 20, 50 and 100)*. This makes our entry and exit procedures much quicker and easier.

* Dive insurance is mandatory either your own or purchase short term DAN insurance (6 - 10 days) at our dive center.*
